Testimony of a female delivery driver who has set out to conquer the logistics and transport sector

One of MiPi's greatest success stories (formerly Midi Pile)

The presentation

Once upon a time, Cindy was 25 years old and came from the Bordeaux region. She had several unsuccessful experiences in various sectors such as catering, sales, telesales and remote consulting.

The meeting

In one of Bordeaux's neighborhoods, Cindy meets Yasmine, Founder and President of MiPi (formerly Midi Pile).

My first encounter with MiPi (formerly Midi Pile) was in the middle of a neighborhood. So at first I thought I'd been given the wrong address. But Yasmine and Arnaud (team manager) were there. Their presence and smile immediately reassured me and put me at ease.

At the time, the world of road transport was totally unknown to her. But Cindy quickly understood and embraced the company's principles. MiPi (formerly Midi Pile) gave her a chance as a driver/delivery person.

During my interview, Yasmine asked me why I wanted to be a delivery person. I told her that delivery had always been in the back of my mind, but that no company had given me a chance. And that moving around all day would allow me to lose weight, that it would avoid going to the gym.

(Yes yes, I told him that 😜)

The discovery

Getting started at MiPi (formerly Midi Pile) as a delivery girl wasn't always easy. Finding the right delivery rhythm isn't easy, but it's necessary for proper routing. She had to learn the challenges of the supply chain, how to optimize her driving in an eco-responsible way, and how to be fast while respecting the parcels delivered.

With time, perseverance and the guidance of the management team, Cindy was able to begin her professional development.

I just needed a little time.

Hatching

When she later became a dispatcher*, Cindy had to find a new place with her former delivery colleagues. Indeed, changing hats and becoming their manager was not going to change their relationship. Once again, thanks to the mutual support of the dispatchers and Caroline (site manager), Cindy was able to learn and train. This enabled her to find her place and naturally impose herself on her team. Now fully fulfilled within the company, Cindy can't imagine leaving the MiPi team (formerly Midi Pile) and is grateful for the opportunity Yasmine has given her. For Cindy, it's thanks to the team of dispatchers who accompany her every day that she succeeds in her missions. As a result, she sets herself the daily goal of living up to their faith in her. It's through this job, these training courses and these encounters that Cindy has been able to find a professional future that she finally enjoys.

Logistics is now part of my projects because managing a team of delivery drivers has become a passion.

Creating a company where values such as gender parity, human-centered delivery service and responsible freight transportation are the focus of daily life is, for Cindy, inspiring and admirable.

Yasmine's journey as a business woman is clearly an example I would like to follow one day.

Ladies, go for it!

So Cindy, what message would you like to share with our female readers who find themselves or feel inspired by your story?

I'd like to say to womenDon't be afraid, you can do it! Delivery will be a great experience".
Before MiPi (formerly Midi Pile), I was always told You can't do it..." "You're not physically fit." "It's a truck you're going to have to drive..." Well, in delivery, you don't have to be a big shot, you don't have to be a man to drive a truck, and above all,
it's not a man's job.. And that's something I learned with MiPi (formerly Midi Pile). When I look in the mirror, I'm proud to say that I used to be a delivery driver, and I admire the women in this business. Because today we're proving that women are strong and capable..

Today, Cindy's joie de vivre and professionalism have made her a key member of the MiPi (formerly Midi Pile) team in Bordeaux.

Thank you Cindy for contributing to the company's development and for telling us about your experience at MiPi (formerly Midi Pile).

*Dispatcher: Dispatchers are transport organizers. They are logistics specialists. They supervise and control the upstream routing and delivery of goods with the aim of achieving the best possible profitability.
